Summer by the beach is the best time of year to get outside and explore all the nearby hiking trails! Oxnard is home to some great hikes that are perfect for all skill levels. Check out the trails below and be sure to add some into your itinerary for your next visit!

The first one is the Scenic Trail and Great Dune View Trail Loop, located at Point Mugu State Park. This hike is a nice and easy trail that gives you amazing views of the Channel Islands and the ocean. On a clear day this view is unbelievable! But it really is a great option all year round and for all skill levels. The length of the hike is 1.8 miles and takes about an hour to complete.

Second, the Harbor Island Trail is a super simple and easy flat walking trail that loops around the harbor. This is great for families, couples, and dogs to walk along and look at the amazing view and boats in the harbor. The total length is about 6 miles but you can always customize it to your liking, and it is flat making it a good option if you have kids. The entire trail would take about 1 hour and 40 minutes.

Next is the Silver Strand Beach to La Janella Park Trail. This is a great trail that’s right on the sand, and dogs are welcome here as well! If you are bringing your dog, make sure you go before 9am or after 5pm as this is when they allow the dogs on the sand. This trail is about 2 miles out and back, and only takes about 35 minutes to complete. It’s open year-round and has stunning views you won’t want to miss!

Lastly, there is the College Park Loop. This is another easy trail that is a paved path along the gardens and soccer fields at College Park. This trail might be the easiest of them all at only 1 mile long and about a 17 minute time to completion. This trail is also great for kids and accessible for all skill levels.
